Why we built it

Scope gaps cost more than a line item.

We started Provision because we wanted to keep money in constructors' pockets. I saw firsthand what scope gaps can do to a construction company. My father, a general contractor in Toronto, would routinely have disagreements with subs. Depending on the circumstances, he would either eat the cost of the disagreement or push for what he thought was right. Either way, it disrupted the project and sometimes cost real money. I chalked it up to “just the way things are.”

A defensible starting point

Every GC has the means now.

Now, it's a thing of the past. If a GC didn't have the time or means to generate a defensible scope of work before, they do now. Scope Agent helps general contractors cut their scoping process from roughly two weeks to one, and it routinely catches five to ten mistakes they would have otherwise made.

It has leading recall, which is the ability to surface real scope from a project, even better than the best models from Anthropic. It also catches many more scope gaps than those models.

And instead of giving you a text box of scope items that you pray are correct, Scope Agent has an intuitive user interface that allows you to verify items and ensure nothing falls through the cracks. For every scope item Scope Agent gives you, it provides an auditable, traceable link back to the drawing or specification from which it originated.

What is the point of automating a scope of work if, one, you can't verify the information and, two, as a result, your teammates don't intimately know the job? We think that the teams that pore over the drawings know the job best, and the ones that can do that while producing the most defensible scopes will protect their margin and deliver the best project outcomes.

At the end of the day, that is what matters: protecting relationships with your subcontractors and delivering a great outcome for the owner.
