About Provision
Provision is automating construction. We help contractors speed up their work, reduce risk, and eliminate errors that cost the industry more than $500B every year. We are building the most ambitious vision of what is possible with AI in construction, and we expect our engineering leaders to be AI-forward in how they lead.
What You Will Do
- Lead engineering execution across projects, teams, and priorities while staying close to the technical details that matter.
- Manage, coach, and unblock engineers through clear direction, high-quality feedback, and a strong operating rhythm.
- Work with product and leadership to shape scope, make tradeoffs, and convert goals into delivery plans.
- Generate forecasting, capacity, and allocation plans across people, priorities, and timelines.
- Set and reinforce a high bar for quality, reliability, security, code review, testing, and production readiness.
- Use AI-native workflows to improve engineering throughput, planning clarity, prototyping speed, and decision quality.
- Partner with machine learning engineers and product teams to build, evaluate, and operate AI-powered product workflows that customers can trust.
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of software development experience, or 7+ years of professional experience building software in lieu of a degree.
- 2+ years of experience leading, managing, or formally mentoring software engineers.
- Production full-stack web application experience, with enough technical depth to evaluate architecture, code quality, delivery risk, and tradeoffs.
- Experience operating in modern software development workflows, including version control, CI/CD, code review, incident response, and release discipline.
- Practical proficiency with AI coding assistants, LLM-based development workflows, or AI-native tools.
- Strong judgment: you use AI to raise team throughput without outsourcing technical, management, validation, security, or maintainability decisions.
How We Work
- You create leverage through others while staying credible on technical details.
- You bring structure, de-risk work, and improve schedule predictability without creating unnecessary process.
- You communicate clearly across functions and handle disagreement constructively.
- You move quickly, say no when needed, and change course when new evidence appears.
- You believe proficiency with AI is now part of the craft of effective engineering leadership.
